Dentists offer free services in February

The Fox River Valley Dental Society’s 14th annual “Dentist With a Heart” will be held throughout the month of February.

Many area dentists from the Tri-Cities and Aurora area will be opening their doors to the needy, offering free services for the day. More than $1 million in free services have been provided to more than 3,500 patients in the last 14 years.

The free services offered can include cleaning, X-ray, diagnostic services, fillings and extractions. They will not be able to provide more involved services such as crowns, bridges, root canals and dentures due to time constraints. The dentists limit services to patients older than 3 years, and an adult must accompany anyone younger than 18.

Simply select a date and service location from the list of participating dentists. Unless otherwise noted, no appointments are needed and calls will not be taken. Arrive at the location selected prior to the starting time listed for that office. Patients will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to arrive early to insure your chances of receiving treatment that day.

It is not necessary to bring proof of income or need. They are running the event on an honor system. They trust that if you seek treatment you are truly in need. For details, visit dentistwithaheartonline.org.
