Dist. 207 board member appointed to state education board

Maine Township High School District 207 board member Eric Leys has been appointed to the board of directors of the Illinois Association of School Boards.

Leys, who was first elected to the District 207 board in 2001 at the age of 21, is representing the North Cook division and serving the remainder of Phil Pritzker’s term through the autumn of 2015.

Leys has long been involved in activities of the IASB, a voluntary, not-for-profit organization of local school boards from across the state. He most recently served as the group’s North Cook division chair.

He will remain on the District 207 board as well.
