Dabrowski honored as First Team All-American

Harper volleyball player Veronica Dabrowski (Mount Prospect, Ill./Rolling Meadows) won numerous awards in her two years at Harper College. Dabrowski can now lay claim to the crowning achievement of the junior college volleyball world, as she was recently named First Team All-American for her outstanding 2013 season.

"She (Veronica) was a very effective player. She hit the ball hard, blocked well, played very good defense and was a very good primary serve receiver," said Harper head coach Bob Vilsoet.

Dabrowski led the Hawks with 475 kills in 2013, which ranked first in the conference and fourth in the nation. The Rolling Meadows High School product had 828 career kills for Harper, ranking second on the Hawks' all-time kills list behind only fellow Christy Lima (860 from 2007-08), also a Rolling Meadows grad.

In 2013, Dabrowski also earned First Team All-Region, First Team All-Conference, Region IV All-Tournament team, and was named to All-Tournament teams at three other 2013 tournaments (Illinois Valley Invitational, Harper College Invitational, Harper College Invite). Dabrowski was also a N4C Academic All-Conference athlete

In 2012, she earned First Team All-Conference , N4C Academic All-conference and was named to the All-Tournament teams at the Illinois Valley Invitational and Harper College Invitational.

Dabrowski becomes Harper's volleyball's 13th All-American in the last 12 years under Vilsoet.

"Winning awards like that continue to prove that Harper College is recognized as a major force nationally in NJCAA volleyball," Vilsoet said. "We are continuing the tradition of consistently having nationally-ranked players."
