Barrington Irish dancers perform with Miss Illinois 2013

The Flannery School of Irish Dance which opened a location in Barrington this past June, has already had the pleasure of performing with a local star.

Miss Illinois 2013, Brittany Smith, graced the stage with the Flannery School of Irish Dance at the St. Charles Scarecrow Fest on Saturday Oct. 12.

The Flannery dancers share Miss Illinois’ unique talent: Irish dance. “Our dancers were thrilled to perform with the reigning Miss Illinois 2013 at this year’s Scarecrow Fest in St. Charles” stated Katie Flannery, co-owner of the Flannery School of Irish Dance. “Brittany is quite an inspiration and a wonderful role model for all Irish dancers.”

Along with practicing for shows, the Flannery School of Irish Dance also trains for major, local and international competitions which Miss Illinois took part in prior to 2007. Currently the Flannery dancers are training to compete at the Mid-America Regional Championships which is the qualifier for the World Championships held next year in London. You can catch a performance by the Flannery Irish dancers in the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day season or try out a free class in either their Barrington or St. Charles locations.
