Palatine Township residents can appeal their recent assessment notice until Oct. 22. Reducing a property's assessed value can reduce property taxes. This appeal is for the new 2013 assessed value sent out earlier this year by the Cook County assessor, and reductions would appear on the second-half tax bill mailed in late 2014. Appeals can be filed at the assessor's office, 721 S. Quentin Road, Palatine.
