Your news: Chicago swing highlights BACOA’s ‘Aged to Perfection’

Chicago swing bandleader Alan Gresik highlights a night of music, food and auctions, at the Barrington Area Council on Aging’s “Aged to Perfection: A Night of Chicago Swing Benefiting BACOA.”

The event will be held from 6:30-10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, at Makray Memorial Golf Club, 1010 S. Northwest Highway, Barrington.

Alan Gresik directs the Swing Shift Orchestra every Thursday at Chicago’s historic Green Mill Lounge. He leads a variety of smaller groups that play throughout the Chicago area and perform a wide range of music styles.

Guests at “Aged to Perfection” will also have a chance to win the evening’s main raffle item: the Wagon of Wine, two cases of wine specially selected by Wine Discount Center.

Tickets are $100 until Aug. 23; $115 after. Reservations are available from BACOA at (847) 381-5030 online reservations are available at www.bacoa.org.

Proceeds from the event benefit BACOA’s services and programs for seniors and caregivers. These include Meals with Wheels, information and resources on aging-related issues, social and recreational programs for seniors, supportive services for family caregivers, support and education groups.

The event will be sponsored by Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital; Alden Estates of Barrington; PricewaterhouseCoopers; and The Garlands of Barrington; BMO Harris Bank is the entertainment sponsor.
