Downtown Neighborhood Association organizes pub crawl through Elgin Saturday

Join the Downtown Neighborhood Association’s annual Downtown Elgin Pub Crawl from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.

This year, there are 10 participating downtown bars — AfterSet, Chooch’s Pizzeria, Danny’s Pizza on Douglas, Eaton’s Redwood Inn, Elgin Public House, Gasthaus, Martini Room, Medusa’s/Jet Night Club, Prairie Rock Bar & Grill and Villa Verone.

Purchase your Pub-crawl Passport online by credit card in advance by noon Thursday, Aug. 1, for the discounted rate of $8. It is $10 at the door the night of the event — cash only. Then obtain stamps by visiting seven of the participating downtown bars for your shot at some great prizes including a grand prize of $500 cash.

There will also be a distinct taste of the arts in the air as the Downtown Elgin Pub Crawl will take place the same night of the first day of the annual Art & Soul on the Fox art festival. Also that evening, Janus Theatre will present Walkabout — a mobile performing arts event at various downtown venues.
