Elgin Cosmopolitan Club grants more than $16,000 to charities

Eleven charities received grants from the Elgin Cosmopolitan Club at the June 11 meeting. The club distributed the $16,825 that was raised by club members from poinsettia sales during the winter holidays, a fall golf outing at Bartlett Hills and this year’s annual spring entertainment dinner and entertainment night, which was the Second City Improv at the Villa Olivia banquet facility.

Recipients of the awards were the: Fox Valley Beaux Arts, Larkin Center, Sherman Hospital Rescue Fund, Senior Service Associates, Prairie Valley YMCA, PADS of Elgin, Kairos Family Center, Ecker Center for Mental Health, Association for Individual Development, Cosmopolitan Discover Fund and Balu-Cherala Sweet Heart Foundation.
