Des Plaines Acting Mayor Mark Walsten issued the oath of police patrol officer to Dustin Kauth at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, in the City Council Chambers, 1420 Miner Street. The newly sworn officer will begin a 15 week instructional session at the Chicago Police Academy. Following graduation from the Academy, he will begin field training with the Des Plaines Police Department.
