Burlington Central shares BNC title

The Burlington Central girls track team captured a share of the Big Northern Conference championship Monday night when the Rockets tied Byron, each scoring 84 points at the conference meet at Genoa-Kingston.

Katie Trupp won the pole vault for the Rockets with a leap of 11 feet. She was second in the high jump (5-04) and the long jump (15-08.5).

The Rockets also got first places from Jasmine Castillo in the 300 hurdles (47.60) and from their 3,200 relay team (10:08.98). The 1,600 relay team took third in 4:20.70, Kayla Wolf was second in the 800 (2:19.38) and Natalie Overstreet took second in the pole vault (10-03).

Central will host a Class 2A sectional on Friday.
