Man accidentally shoots brother in Elgin Twp.

Kane County sheriff's police are investigating an accidental shooting early Sunday morning in unincorporated Elgin Township.

The shooting occurred at 12:30 a.m. Sunday when two brothers reportedly were handling a revolver inside their home on Woodcliff Drive near South Elgin, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

The revolver accidentally went off and one of the subjects shot the other in the abdomen. He is being treated for injuries at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, according to the sheriff's office. Sheriff's police did not immediately disclose the age of the siblings involved.

No charges have been filed.
