• Someone cut the Mediacom cable near a house between 6 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Mondayh in the 0-99 block of Buckingham Drive in Sugar Grove Township, sheriff's police said.
• A tire was cut on a vehicle between 5:30 p.m. April 26 and 4:03 p.m. Monday in the 0-99 block of Sunnyside, Batavia Township, sheriff's police said.
• A resident of the 39W200 block of East Mallory Drive near Geneva reported to the sheriff's department Wednesday someone filed a fraudulent tax return using their Social Security number.
• Stephen J. Gibson, 24, of the 1800 block of Westfield Drive, Aurora, was arrested at about 2 p.m. Thursday on Griswold Street south of Walnut Avenue and charged with possession of between 30 and 500 grams of cannabis, manufacturing of between 30 and 500 grams of cannabis, and delivery of cannabis on school grounds, according to a police report. Gibson was the driver of a vehicle that police stopped for an unspecified vehicle code violation. The stop took place about 560 feet from Lowery Middle School.
