Elgin church hosts Strawberry Festival May 4

Bethlehem Lutheran Church invites you to the annual Strawberry Festival which will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the church, 340 Grand Blvd., near Lords Park on Elgin’s east side.

In addition to homemade strawberry jam, strawberry shortcake, and chocolate-covered strawberries, there will be bakery goods, books, crafts and plants for sale as well as a flea market.

Proceeds are matched by Thrivent Financial and go to the Child Development Center, a member’s mission trip to Mexico, Hamilton Wings, YWCA, PADS of Elgin, Ecker Mental Health Center.

The youth group is also sponsoring a car wash to raise funds for their annual mission trip.

A tour of the sanctuary will be offered with music from the pipe organ.
