9 Year old Girl… Ready to Wow the World at National American Miss Pageant!

Miss Suhanee Amul Patel, age 9 has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss Illinois Pageant to be held August 2nd and 3rd at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, IL. She will be participating along with other outstanding young ladies from Illinois. This event gives Suhanee a chance to share her Indian heritage as well as her talents.

Miss Suhanee's activities include science projects, art projects, writing stories and sharing her talent at local retirement homes. She has a dream to help underprivileged youth in developing countries. “In small villages of Indian and other poor countries girls do not get to go to school, learn and have fun with friends. They have to beg for money or get married at an early age. I want to give the girls the right to show the world they are beautiful and intelligent!”

She is well on her way as she has a straight A grade average and awarded at annual district science fair. She has a dream to open a cosmetic empire that uses profits to fund such a population. “Mom, when I grow up, I will let anyone no matter what color, race or sexual preference work at my company. I will train them and let them be what they want to be!”, said Suhanee as she went to study for a science exam after long hours of dance class.

Suhanee also enjoys dance at Payaliya Dance Studio (Bollywood), and Trilogy (Poms/Jazz). After early morning choir rehearsals as a May Whitney Wildcat, she rushes to complete art work with Barb at Mainstreet Art Centre.

During free time with friends, Suhanee is often found sharing time and talent at a senior living center or at Feed My Starving Children Organization. “Helping others feels so good!” is Suhanee's final thought for the day!
