Annual Vidalia Onion Sale Returns to Peoples' Bank May 3, 4, 5

The Northwest Shrine Club's Annual Vidalia Onion sale will return to The Peoples' Bank of Arlington Heights during the weekend of May 3rd, 4th and 5th. The Peoples' Bank facility at 1104 South Arlington Heights Road sits on property that once served as the home of the Northwest Shrine Club. Every spring, the club held their annual Vidalia Onion Sale, offering ten pound bags of fresh onions to local customers. Since building their new branch at the site in 2009, The Peoples' Bank has welcomed The Shrine Club back to the property to host their onion sale on an annual basis.

“We have made a commitment to honor this tradition and we are pleased to once again host the Shriners on our property,” said bank President Frank Appleby. “This is an annual event that helps kick-off our busiest season of the year for hosting and sponsoring events and it is a weekend we all look forward to.”

The onion sale serves as a major fund-raiser for Northwest Suburban Shrine Club and Medinah. Onions are pulled from fields in Georgia, loaded into ten pound bags and shipped immediately to Arlington Heights. All proceeds benefit the club's many charitable endeavors.

Sales of the Vidalia onions are scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 each day and will continue through the weekend as long as supplies last.
