Algonquin

• A 16-year-old girl from Huntley was arrested Sunday at the Algonquin Walmart on the 1400 block of South Randall Road and charged with retail theft, police said. The girl was later referred to the Tri County Area Peer Jury and released to the custody of her parents.

• Ellen M. Scranton, 18, of the 700 block of Hickman Lane, Woodstock, was arrested at the Algonquin Walmart on the 1400 block of South Randall Road on Saturday and charged with retail theft, according to a police report. She was released on a notice to appear in court May 29.

• A 14-year-old boy from Sleepy Hollow was arrested at the Algonquin Kohl's on the 700 block of South Randall Road on Friday and charged with retail theft, police said. He was released on a notice to appear in court May 29.

• James F. Smith, 50, of the 1700 block of Red Oak Lane, Rockford, was arrested Wednesday at the Algonquin Walmart on the 1400 block of South Randall Road and later charged with felony retail theft, according to a police report. He was released from the McHenry County jail the following day after posting 10 percent of his $7,500 bail. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Elgin

• Yomny A. Zamacona, 33, of the 1600 block of Mulberry Lane, Elgin, was charged last week with two felony counts of knowingly possessing two or more fictitious or unlawfully altered identification cards, according to a police report. His bail was set at $7,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court May 2. If found guilty of the Class 4 felony he could spend up to three years in prison.
