Learn about the health of Tyler Creek at annual meeting

The Tyler Creek Watershed Coalition will hold its annual general membership meeting Wednesday, April 17, in the Lindner Fitness Center on the Judson University campus, 1151 N. State St. (Route 31) in Elgin. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and is open to all interested citizens.

The program will feature a presentation by Timothy Loftus on stormwater utilities. Loftus is with the Chicago Metropolitan Area for Planning and manages projects funded by the Clean Water Act. His short presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

There will also be a presentations on the results of water sampling that is used to monitor the health of Tyler Creek, as well as the results of recent efforts to correct and stop bank erosion on four areas of the creek.

Also scheduled is the election of directors of the coalition board. Only paid members may make nominations and vote for the candidates.
