Writers to present readings of poems, plays and shorts in Barrington

An evening of original poems, stories and short plays will be presented from 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the Barrington Cultural Arts Center Gallery in the Ice House Mall, 200 Applebee St., Barrington, by writers from the Barrington Writers Workshop, Barrington Cultural Arts Center and TesserAct Theatre as part of the ongoing “Third Fridays … in the Gallery Series.”

Admission is $5. Refreshments will be served.

Barrington Writers Workshop (BWW) is celebrating its 35th year of helping local writers improve their craft and connect with other writers and art organizations. Through weekly meetings, the group provides constructive critiques on works in progress. Writers of all genres are welcome. For information, visit the group’s website at: www.barringtonwriters.org.

“Third Fridays … in the Gallery” is a program sponsored by BCAC and TesserAct Theatre and is an evening to promote community theater and thespian fellowship in the Barrington area. It is open to all area residents aged high school through adult. The groups have an ambitious plan for the year that includes open-mikes, readings from local authors and staged performances. Auditions for those who wish to act or read are held on an ongoing basis.
