The Des Plaines Park District is hosting a public meeting 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the David L. Markworth Boardroom at the Administrative and Leisure Center, 2222 Birch St., to discuss the renovation of Jaycee and Kiwanis Parks. Jaycee Park is located at 1496 Wicke Ave.; Kiwanis Park is located at 1700 Lincoln Ave. Both parks will be completely renovated in the summer and fall of 2013. Park district staff will be available at the meeting to review the designs and amenities for both parks, and answer any questions. Two design concepts for each park are on the website dpparks.org for review. A comment page will be provided for those who are unable to attend the meeting. "The goal of the renovations is to provide safe, modern, and unique play experiences to enhance the recreational opportunities in these two vibrant neighborhoods.," said Paul Cathey, superintendent of Parks and Planning. For information, contact Cathey at (847) 391-5700 or Paulc@DPParks.org.
