Huntley upends Palatine

Huntley 12, Palatine 4: Colin Lyman and Tyler Albright were each 3-for-4 with doubles and 2 RBI to lead the Red Raiders (2-0). Mark Skonieczny (2-for-4, 3 RBI), and Kameron Sallee (2-for-2, RBI) also contributed for Huntley. Eric Luecht went 4 innings with 6 strikeouts to earn the win.

Barrington 7, Dundee-Crown 5: Dylan Kissack was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Garrett Ryan was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI for the Chargers in their season-opening loss. Ryan Suwanski and Luis Garcia (2B) each drove in a run as well. Kyle DeAtley suffered the loss for D-C in relief.

Mundelein 12, Cary-Grove 5: The Trojans (3-1) suffered their first loss in their final game at Rent One Ballpark in downstate Marion. Zach Marszal was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for Cary-Grove. Jeremy Vasquez had a double and Matt Ewert a triple. Andrew Brierton suffered the loss on the mound.
