Bartlett Library candidate says she wasn’t invited to forum

Out of the four candidates running for Bartlett Public Library District trustee, Francine Byron, was the only one who did not speak at a candidate forum hosted by the Bartlett Woman’s Club on Thursday. Byron said in an email Friday that she “had not received an invitation to speak.” She said she attended the event and was surprised to see the other candidates speaking. She later found an email in her spam folder dated March 13 from a member of the woman’s club regarding the event. Regardless, Byron said, “It does upset me that I did not have the same opportunity to let our community know who I am and what I stand for. I believe if it is an open forum, personal care should be taken to make sure all candidates are invited at the same time.” Byron’s responses to a Daily Herald candidate questionnaire can be found at dailyherald.com/article/20130215/submitted/302159681/.
