Elgin’s Congregation Kneseth Israel hosts Community Seder March 26

Submitted by Congregation Kneseth Israel

Congregation Kneseth Israel will host a Community Seder at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the synagogue, 330 Division St., Elgin. Rabbi Margaret Frisch Klein states, “Passover is a deeply significant holiday for the Jewish people. It is also an important time of the year for many other people and faith groups as well. The celebration of freedom following a period of oppression makes this holiday a universal experience.”

Rabbi Klein, along with others, will be leading the service which takes place around a festive meal.

According to Anita Hornung, organizer for the event, “We are very pleased to be able offer this Seder to those in the Jewish Community who are not currently affiliated with a synagogue and may not have family in the area. We also welcome those who, although not Jewish, wish to experience this lovely service.”

The cost of the Seder is $36 per person for those over age 13, and $12 per person for those under 13. Reservations may be made by contacting Anita Hornung at (630) 377-1351. Reservations must be made no later than Tuesday, March 12.

Congregation Kneseth Israel serves the diverse Jewish community of the greater Fox Valley area. It offers weekly services, a religious school, observance of all life cycle events, and a variety of additional programming. They welcome interfaith families.
