Kaneland High’s scholastic bowl champs to host regionals

The Kaneland High School Scholastic Bowl team participated in the Northern Illinois Big XII Conference Championships on Feb. 23. For the third straight year, the Knights swept through the teams from the East to take home the division title. In the championship match against Streator, Kaneland defeated the Western Division Champs 310-200 to take home the Conference Championship for the second time in three years.
Congratulations to the team of captain Cameron Carlson, Ethan Witt, Chris Farrell, Beau Ott, Nic Likeum, Morgan Buerke, Anna Piazza, and Matt Kalinowski on their performance.
Next up for the Scholastic Bowl Conference Champions is the Illinois High School Association’s Regional competition, held on Monday, March 4, at Kaneland High School, 47W326 Keslinger Road, Maple Park. At 5:30 p.m. Match 1 will begin with Dundee-Crown vs. Burlington Central high schools; Match 2 with Sycamore vs. Jacobs high schools; and Mendota vs. Cary-Grove high schools. At 6:30 p.m., Kaneland High will take on the winner of Match 1, and the winners of Match 2 and 3 will compete. At 7:30 p.m., the winners of the 6:30 p.m. round will compete.
