Consumers Credit Union hosts 83rd annual meeting

Waukegan, IL February 26, 2013: Celebrating 83 years of serving the community, Consumers Credit Union (CCU) is holding its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Keylime Cove Resort in Gurnee. The meeting is open to all members of the credit union. The agenda includes the announcement of six $1,500 scholarship winners from Consumers Cooperative Association, along with the election of four members to the credit union's Board of Directors.

“Consumers Credit Union looks forward to greeting Members at our 83rd Annual Meeting,” noted Sean M. Rathjen, CCU President. “During the meeting, our Member-owners will elect four Directors to serve three-year terms on our all-volunteer Board. We'll also announce the six $1,500.00 scholarship winners, awarded by Consumers Cooperative Association, the credit union's sponsor. Additionally, we'll share highlights from last year and provide a look ahead to our plans for 2013. The Annual Meeting also provides a great opportunity to express appreciation to Members for their business.”

The President's Report at the Annual Meeting will provide details about CCU's 2012 financial performance, including comparisons to other financial institutions on a local and national level. Furthermore, Members have the opportunity to vote for representation on the all-volunteer Board of Directors. Those unable to attend may vote in advance by proxy ballots; ballots are available at www.myconsumers.org and at all six CCU locations.

Nominees for the Board of Directors include the following (listed alphabetically by last name, along with city of residence; incumbents are identified with an “I” following their names): Ann Campanella (I), Gurnee, IL; Troy Louis (I), Lake Villa, IL; Joseph Rajcevich (I), Waukegan, IL, Michael Raysakis, Grayslake, IL; Shawn Rouse, Lake Villa, IL; Kimberly Sampey, Chicago, IL; Frank Soyka (I), Green Oaks, IL; and, Matthew St. Cyr, Zion, IL.

Approximately 300 Members and guests are expected to attend the meeting, held this year at Keylime Cove Resort, 1700 Nations Dr. in Gurnee. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting and the election of Board Members. Annual Reports for the credit union's 2012 business year will also be distributed at the meeting. Tickets are available at all CCU branches for $15.00 on a first-come, first served basis; no tickets will be sold at the door.
