Volunteers, talent needed for AID Telethon

The Association for Individual Development is seeking talented performers for its 14th annual telethon Saturday, March 16, at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove.

Singers, dancers, and musicians are wanted for the annual telethon. This live broadcast event will benefit more than 5,000 special needs children and adults in the Fox Valley area.

This 10-hour event will be broadcast live from Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove; it airs on local cable television stations and streams on the AID web page, www.the-association.org.

Deadline for registration is Friday, March 1.

There is a $25 registration fee due upon confirmation for all performers. Mail the completed form to: c/o Wendy Bialek, Elgin Training Center, 1135 Bowes Road, Elgin, IL 60123, or email wbialek@the-association.org. Download te registration form at www.the-association.org.

Volunteers also are needed to answer phones for one-hour shifts throughout the day. More than 500 volunteers will come together to help AID raise $125,000 for programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, those who have suffered a trauma and those at risk.
