Partnership Feeds Hungry Senior Citizen

Allured Business Media, of Carol Stream, has donated $800 to sponsor a needy senior citizen served by DuPage County charity, the Humanitarian Service Project (HSP.) HSP provides a monthly, 100 lb., grocery delivery to 121 local seniors living in poverty through their Senior Citizen Project. Over the past few years, Allured Business Media has been heavily involved in HSP's endeavors to serve impoverished seniors. Last fall, Allured held a charity garage sale, in order to fund an endowment to permanently sponsor a needy senior in the program.

The donation will provide the sponsored senior fresh, nourishing fruits and vegetables, frozen meat, non-perishable food, and Pepperidge Farm bread for one year. The 121 impoverished seniors in HSP's Senior Citizen Project receive monthly deliveries of 100 lbs. of groceries, which also include personal care items and paper products (paper towels, facial tissue, and toilet paper.) The seniors also receive monthly gifts from a “Secret Pal” donor. In order to play an active role in the care of the senior the company supports, Allured President Jan Ludwig has volunteered to provide this service as well.

Karole Kettering, Executive Director and Co-founder of HSP, said of Allured's support, “HSP has been blessed to have the support of a community-minded company like Allured. Their generosity has empowered HSP to continue to serve those in our own neighbors who are in need.”
