West Aurora, Kaneland extend streaks

West Aurora 55, Glenbard North 37: Josh McAuley racked up a game-high 29 points as the Blackhawks pulled away in the second half for the DuPage Valley Conference win in Carol Stream.

An upset-mined Glenbard North squad led 12-9 after one quarter and the score remained knotted 24-24 at the half. West Aurora (18-3, 9-1) took control by outscoring the Panthers (8-10, 4-6) 19-8 in the third quarter.

Jayquan Lee and Jontrel Walker added 9 points each for the Blackhawks, who extended their winning streak to five games.

Kaneland 47, Yorkville 39: Senior Matt Limbrunner and junior Drew David netted 16 and 14 points, respectively, to lift the Knights to a Northern Illinois Big XII East victory in Yorkville. Kaneland (13-6, 6-1) extended its winning streak to seven games.

Marmion 63, Glenbard South 54: The host Cadets roared back from a 36-30 halftime deficit to claim the nonconference decision.

Alex Theisen (16 points), Colin Kavanaugh (14 points) and Jordan Glasgow (12 points) paved the way for Marmion (8-14). The Cadets outscored the Raiders 18-7 in the third quarter.
