Palatine Parks employees join in township's Adopt-A-Family Program

The employees of the Palatine Park District combined forces this year to adopt four families through the Palatine Township Adopt-A-Family Program.

Forty-one staff members made personal donations to this year's staff-run Adopt-A-Family program totaling $1,160.

This allowed for the adoption of ten members of four families for the holidays, with excess funds being donated to the Palatine Township Needy Family Fund which helps families throughout the year.

The PPD Adopt-A-Family committee this year was chaired by staff members Ann McHugh, who did the holiday shopping, and Joan Scovic.

Gifts included warm winter gear, clothing, toys, books and gift cards. In addition to monetary donations, many staff members also donated wrapping supplies, and the presents were wrapped by staff members Donelda Danz, Keith Williams, Lisa Schroeder, and Karen Rude in preparation for delivery to the Palatine Township offices on December 7.

The mission of Palatine Park District is to provide a variety of safe, enjoyable and affordable parks and recreation facilities and activities that will enhance the quality of life by promoting good health and well-being for all residents and visitors of the Palatine Park District.
