Learn the story behind St. Nicholas

On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Elgin History Museum, 360 Park St., will hold its annual Holiday Tea at 1 p.m. with the theme, “St. Nick to America: The Legend of St. Nicholas,” presented by Terry Lynch. Admission is free. Donations are accepted for the refreshments.

As St. Nicholas (Father Christmas), Terry Lynch will tell festive tales and explain the influences of this fourth-century bishop on holiday traditions, religious and secular, throughout the world. There will be holiday crafts for the kids.
