The Maine Township High School District 207 school board swore in Carla Owen as a new board member Monday night.

Owen, of Park Ridge, fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Joann Braam, who is moving out of district. The school board conducted interviews with several applicants before selecting Owen, who has been a member of District 207's Community Advisory Council since it was formed in 2010.
