Daily Herald report

Grayslake Elementary District 46 board members plan to host a town meeting Tuesday, Dec. 11 that will include discussions about teacher contract negotiations. Superintendent Ellen Correll said it will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Grayslake Middle School, just west of Library Lane and Route 83. Officials are expected to discuss contract proposals from the school board and the teachers union. Officials also plan to explain the ramifications the proposals would have on the budget. The District 46 branch of the Lake County Federation of Teachers union will strike Jan. 16 if a deal isn't reached by then. The school board also plans to provide a brief update on district finances.
