Millennium Dance Center presents its 5th Annual Holiday Showcase Friday, December 14th, 2012 at 7pm at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream. Students and teachers have been working since October to put together short, festive ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and modern pieces. The performance features 140 dancers from Carol Stream and the surrounding communities. Millennium Dance Center also uses this performance as an opportunity to collect food and toiletry donations for several local community groups. Tickets are available at the door and also available during office hours at Millennium Dance Center. General admission tickets are $7/ $4 with a donation. Children and high school students are free.

The focus at Millennium Dance Center is providing quality dance education. Besides weekly technique classes, performance opportunities are a large component of students training. "Dance is a performance art. It is so important that we provide opportunities for dancers to be on stage and practice that unique part of their training. In the process we are creating future audience members and supporters of the arts and hopefully sparking the passion that will drive dancers to continue on to professional careers", explains Millennium Dance Center director, Meagan Ziebarth. The Holiday Showcase is the first performance of the school year and is a great preview to the more produced and formal Spring Recital in June. As tap teacher and professional dancer Marty Bronson says, "It's becoming a family tradition!" Audience members can expect entertaining dancing, holiday cheer and goodwill, and invigorating energy.
