"The library is happy to hold a fundraiser for In2Books," said Amy Peterson, head of audiovisual services. "It's a great organization, and makes literacy fun by having students engage in reading and writing experiences with pen pals."

Peterson explained that each student is matched with a pen pal who reads the same books. Throughout the year, the student and his or her pen pal exchange letters about the important issues in the books. The pen pal experience is complemented by the classroom study of genre and genre-related literacy.

All ages are welcome to attend the Make a Difference Book Sale at the library. No fee or registration is required.
