Maine West selling off LP, 45 record collection

So it is that disc jockeys who for decades spun 45s on a turntable or carefully lowered the needle on a selected album track are now much more likely to click a link on an MP3 file or a YouTube video.

Because of these changes in music recording and broadcasting and because Maine West High School would like its extensive vinyl collection to live on in good homes, West’s WMTH-FM Radio will host and conduct a sale of its album and 45 collection from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, outside the Maine West cafeteria, located in the central hub of the building. This is a good opportunity for vinyl aficionados to stop by and add missing pieces to their collections. Maine West is at 1755 S. Wolf Road in Des Plaines.
