Storyteller to perform at Stevenson High School

The Vernon Area Public Library and Stevenson High School Foundation welcome storyteller Brian Rohr for a free, adult evening of myths, folk tales, and fairy tales from all cultures 6:30 to 8. m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5 in the West Auditorium at Stevenson High School. A former Buffalo Grove resident and alumnus of Stevenson, Rohr moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2007 to study with mythologist and storyteller Daniel Deardorff. He is a seasoned storyteller, writer, poet and healing arts practitioner. In his performance, “Drumming the Mythic Heart: An Evening of Storytelling,” Rohr will guide an exploration of powerful ancient narratives through live telling and drumming. Rohr tells stories from a number of different cultures, including Tibetan, Native American, Jewish, Russian, Bornean, European (Grimms) and more.
