Healthy Communities, Healthy Youth is a nonprofit organization comprised of governmental agencies, schools, businesses, churches, residents and students in Warren Township.

Established in 1999, HCHY's mission is to inspire and collaborate with the community to develop healthy, responsible, caring and competent youth.

"One way HCHY is accomplishing its mission is by eliminating one financial stress for struggling families and allowing children to stay focused on their education. A good educational foundation has been shown to increase the stability of these children as they transition into adulthood." said Lisa Sheppard, HCHY chairwoman.

Donations are still being accepted at Gurnee Park District community centers, Warren Township and Warren Newport Public Library. For details, call Gurnee Park District at (847) 623-7788.
