Letter carriers drive gives pantry a boost
On behalf of the Palatine Township residents that use the food pantry I would like to extend a sincere and very large thank you to all of the township residents that made a donation to the May 12 National Association of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive.
We were very grateful for the coordination of the food drive by the Letter Carriers and for the large amount of food that was donated.
Families are struggling in these difficult economic times and the Palatine Township Food Pantry is there to assist them. I am pleased that Palatine Township has so many great and caring volunteers that staff the food pantry and are currently assisting over 320 families each month.
We are also thankful for other community members that make financial and food donations. Each one of these individuals, businesses, church groups and schools can be assured that the food pantry is providing assistance to any of your neighbors that need our help. Only through the community’s efforts can we call this program a success.
Please visit our website, www.PalatineTownship.Com, to see a current list of most needed items. Donations are accepted during township business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. or Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.-noon. Please contact the food pantry at (847) 358-6121 if you are having a food drive so we may coordinate it with you.
