Wheaton North takes DVC championship

Wheaton North pounded out 13 hits and got a complete game from pitcher Lake Bachar to claim the DuPage Valley Conference baseball championship Wednesday in Wheaton with a 13-3 victory against cross-town rival WW South. Bachar struck out seven and walked just one. Leadoff man Ryan Kent went 2-for-4 with 2 runs and 3 RBI.

Lisle 5, Westmont 1:

At the Class 2A Immaculate Conception regional semifinals, pitcher Jared Jayne (7-0) went the distance, striking out 11 for the victory. Kevin Coppin tripled for the Lions.

Naperville North 8, Glenbard North 2:

Kevin Walsh earned the victory on themound, and Pat Mollo homoered for Naperville North, which scored five times in the second inning of the DuPage Valley Conference game.

Waubonsie Valley 4, Lake Park 3:

Tyler Hasper drove in all four Warriors runs in the Upstate Eight Conference Valley Division game in Aurora, going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Naperville Central 5, West Chicago 1:

Nick Lopez went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI for the Redhawks in the DuPage Valley Conference game.
