Grayslake Coop Nursery School Holding Open House Saturday, May 5

The Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School will be holding an Open House on Saturday, May 5, from 10 A.M. – 12 P.M. GCNS is the area's oldest cooperative preschool, offering programs for 2-5 year-olds taught by certified teachers.

With a few class openings remaining for the 2012-2013 school year, prospective families are invited to tour the school, talk with staff and current families, and register on-site. GCNS offers a variety of two-day, three-day and five-day options for children between the ages of 2 and 5. The 2012-2013 school year marks the school's 37th year in the community. GCNS is located on Route 137 at The Shops of Prairie Crossing in Grayslake.

As GCNS Director Meredith Price notes, “We are so excited to have been recognized by the community as the best preschool in Northern Lake County and we look forward to introducing new families to the cooperative philosophy which allows parents to be involved in their children's early learning experiences.”

“We are extremely proud of our programs and our high-quality teachers, all of whom are certified in either Early Childhood or Elementary Education,” Price continues. “This will be our third year offering an Enrichment class for 4 and 5 year-olds, which gives parents a five-day-a-week option for pre-Kindergarteners or acts as a wonderful extension of the Kindergarten day for half-day Kindergarten students. The class, which has been very popular with parents and children, offers hands-on exploration of math, science, and literacy. ”

Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited. Information on class schedules and registration forms may be found on our website at www.grayslake-coop.com or by calling 847-223-9820.

GCNS welcomes families from Grayslake, Hainesville, Round Lake, Gurnee, Mundelein, Libertyville and surrounding areas. The preschool has been providing area children with a quality preschool experience for more than thirty years since its founding in 1976 by a group of local mothers looking for an enriching and nurturing preschool.
