Prairie Crossing library dedication Monday

Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake will host a grand opening of a new environmental library Monday. Located on the upper floor of the Wright schoolhouse, the Victoria Post Ranney Environmental Library will support and reflect the charter, mission, and values of the public choice school. Prairie Crossing has had an environmentally focused curriculum since it launched in 1999 within the boundaries of Woodland Elementary District 50 and Fremont Elementary District 79. Ranney is one of the charter school’s founders and co-developer of the Prairie Crossing subdivision. The library will house a collection of materials focused on sustainability, ecology and regional conservation. The materials will be appropriate for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Ranney is expected to attend the dedication.
