London Middle School to host recycling, wellness events

Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 will be hosting a free wellness fair and electronics recycling event at Jack London Middle School on Saturday, April 14.

The wellness fair will focus on the importance of health and wellness with informational breakout sessions, more than 20 local vendor booths, physical activity sessions for the whole family and prizes. Miss Illinois 2012 Hannah Smith will be on hand, as well as the Twain Tumblers from Twain Elementary School. Representatives from Weber Grill will also be at the fair doing food demonstrations.

The wellness fair goes from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Jack London Middle School, 1001 W. Dundee Road, Wheeling.

London will also be hosting an electronics recycling day on April 14 in conjunction with Arcoa.

Possible items to be recycled include computer equipment, cables, printers, fax machines, scanners, tape or CD players, VCRs, iPods and MP3 players, hair dryers, televisions, telephones, cameras and more.

Items not being accepted include microwaves, light bulbs, paint, batteries and possibly hazardous items.

The recycling event will take place in the London Middle School parking lot from 7 a.m. to noon.
