Hohmans help Waubonsie Valley to road win

Erin Hohman went 3-for-3 with a double and 2 runs batted in, Shannon Hohman (1-1) struck out seven and Waubonsie Valley (2-2) rode a 3-run first inning to a 5-2 nonconference softball road win at Plainfield Central on Monday.

Neuqua Valley 16, Streamwood 0:

Kelsey Dominquez was 3-for-4 with a triple and 5 RBI and Jamie O’Brien (2-1) struck out 10 in a two-hit shutout for Neuqua in Naperville. Katie Cruse was 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases and O’Brien drove in 3 for the Wildcats (3-2).

Glenbard West 4, St. Charles North 3:

Meghan Johnson went 2-for-2 with an RBI, Kelly Borneman 2-for-4 with a run scored and stolen base and Rachel Hitzemann 2-for-4 with a run and stolen base for the Hilltoppers (3-2). Winning pitcher Taylor Langtry (3-0) struck out six.

Montini 18, Marian Central 1:

Lauren Trojnar (1-3) twirled a 1-hitter, striking out 11 and the Broncos (3-6) pounded out 13 hits to back her. Tori Shipbaugh, Sara Ross, Christina Barrett and Emily Barg all doubled for Montini.

Immaculate Conception 8, St. Edward 1:

Jessica Conenna (2-3) struck out 11 behind a 14-hit attack for the Knights in a Suburban Christian Conference crossover game in Elmhurst. Katelyn Conenna was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, Maria Kieliszewski 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, Jenn Clementi 2-for-3 with an RBI, Gabby Curran 2-for-4 with a triple and Jessica Conenna 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for IC (3-4, 1-0).
