Scheflow wins in Kane 22nd District race

With all 10 precincts reporting, Douglas Scheflow won the Republican nod over Debbie Miller in the board race for Kane County’s 22nd District.

According to unofficial tallies, Scheflow, an Elgin attorney, had 900 votes, while Miller, an Elgin entrepreneur, had 561 votes.

Scheflow now faces Bob Getz, who was uncontested for the Democratic nomination.

Miller questioned whether Scheflow has time for the job, since he hasn’t attended county board meetings in preparation for this race. Scheflow said his work schedule made it difficult to go, but that he’d rearrange it so he can serve. The 22nd District includes parts of western Elgin and Elgin Township.
