Maine West dance show opens Thursday

For those who love dance, the Maine West High School Orchesis show Thursday-Saturday, March 8-10, will offer plenty of variety.

Orchesis sponsor and Maine West teacher Lisa Jacob said audiences will enjoy “contemporary dance, hip hop, comedy, all-guy dances, sassy jazz, moving lyrical, tap, our award-winning state piece, and our incredible adagio, where the guys lift and throw the girls. It is an exceptional show with something for the whole family.”

The show’s theme is “Access Orchesis” and narrations will be based on the Access Hollywood theme. Sixty-two dancers are participating.

Show times are 4 p.m. on Thursday and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Maine West auditorium. Admission is $6 at the door. Maine West is at 1755 S. Wolf Road in Des Plaines.
