His website meant to fix misconceptions

This is in reference to the article, “Online debate over Mt. Prospect veterans memorial” appearing in the Sunday 2/26 Daily Herald on page 3.

I need to clear this up once and for all regarding the proposed building of Veterans Memorial in Mount Prospect and the ipetition websites that are for and against. My intent from the start was NOT necessarily to set up an online petition in favor of spending park district funds on a Veterans Memorial but rather to heartily express my dismay at the blatantly misleading tactic that was used in wording of the ipetition set up online against the project.

I am instead in favor of all issues in the Mount Prospect Park District being presented accurately and clearly. No deceptive tactics designed to mislead the public are welcome.

Please understand that if the building of the veterans’ memorial is again postponed by the park board because the money is urgently needed elsewhere, then that is fine. I understand. I think the citizens in favor of building the memorial will understand.

If not, then it is time at long last to build this beautifully-designed memorial that will stand for many years as a testament to the respect and appreciation that the Mount Prospect residents have for their warriors. It will be a structure generations of Mount Prospect citizens will be proud of. If you support this effort, I thank you.
