District 59 hosts informational meeting for dual language program

Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 is accepting applications for its Dual Language Program for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The districtwide choice program, which begins its fourth year at Salt Creek School, integrates native English speaking students and native Spanish speaking students for academic instruction presented in both languages.

Families that live outside the Salt Creek attendance area are eligible to apply. A lottery system is used to select participants because the number of applicants typically exceeds available slots.

Families of incoming kindergarten students can get more information by attending one of the upcoming parent information nights.

Informational sessions will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, and Monday, Feb. 13 at Salt Creek School, 65 Kennedy Blvd., Elk Grove Village. Baby-sitting will be available by calling (847) 593-4375 to register. For more information, visit ccsd59.org or call Salt Creek School at (847) 593-4375.
