Fundraiser for SHS alum

A fundraiser is set for Sunday for a former Mundelein resident who was paralyzed in an auto accident in the fall. The event will benefit Alexandra Blaszczuk, a 2005 Stevenson High School graduate, school officials said. The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the Polish Museum of America, 984 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. Those attending are asked to donate $10 at the door, but will have other donation opportunities during the afternoon. Blaszczuk, a student at the Columbia University law school in New York, was injured Oct. 7 when a car in which she was a passenger crashed outside of New York City. All proceeds from the event will go to the Alex Blaszczuk Trust, which will help pay for her medical bills and help her return to Columbia. For more information, go to alexbtrust.org.
