Suspicious van trying to lure kids near Glen Ellyn

The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating a suspicious van that was trying to lure children in Glen Ellyn Tuesday.

Officials said at about 3:30 p.m., a child was outside in the area of Elmwood Drive and Milton Avenue in unincorporated Glen Ellyn when the child reportedly was approached by a subject in a work van.

Police said a white male, reportedly about 55-years-old with a medium build, tried to get the child to get into the van so he could “show her a puppy,” authorities said.

The child left and informed parents of the situation, officials said.

The van driver is reported to have short, white hair that is balding in the back, was wearing a “Five O’Clock” shadow, and wearing a white or light colored T-shirt.

The van was a navy blue Ford Econoline or Chevy Express type work Van with tinted windows.
