Haunted trail and bonfire:

The Lindenhurst Park District offers a day of thrills at its haunted trail and bonfire Saturday, Oct. 15. Participants walking the winding, wooded path through Forest View Park, 513 Forest View Drive, will see about a dozen spooky scenes for $1 per person. The trail will be open from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wagon rides through McDonald Woods are also are available from 3 to 6 p.m. for $1 or a canned food item for the Lake Villa Food Pantry. Other attractions include the Witches’ Kitchen, where you can purchase treats, a kids’ game tent, face painting, moonwalk and pumpkins and gourds for sale.
