Palatine Public Library appoints Thresholds general counsel as trustee

The Palatine Public Library District announced the appointment of Bruce Jefferson to fill a vacancy on the board of trustees. The Palatine resident works as general counsel for Thresholds, a not-for-profit mental health provider in the Chicago area. His community political experience includes service as deputy director of the Indiana Civil Rights Commission. Library officials said Jefferson was chosen from a field of six applicants, and said he strongly believes in the mission and objectives of the local public library. Jefferson, whose term expires in April 2013, was sworn at Wednesday’s board meeting.
